Iglesia Alianza Cristiana y Misionera

Entonces pasó un samaritano despreciado y, cuando vio al hombre, sintió compasión por él. Se le acercó y le alivió las heridas con vino y aceite de oliva, y se las vendó. Luego subió al hombre en su propio burro y lo llevó hasta un alojamiento, donde cuidó de él. Al día siguiente, le dio dos monedas de plata al encargado de la posada y le dijo: “Cuida de este hombre. Si los gastos superan esta cantidad, te pagaré la diferencia la próxima vez que pase por aquí”.

Juan 10:33-35

Me impresiona mucho la similitud entre el samaritano y Jesús en este pasaje. Jesús también fue despreciado, y sacrifico su vida por compasión. El se acerca a los que estamos dolidos, y hasta casi muertos, en el camino de la vida y nos da vida espiritual. El se bajo de su posición de gloria y majestad (su cabalgadura-"kenosis" Filipenses 2), y nos subió a su posición de hijos/ hijas de Dios. El nos unge y hace todo milagro y ministración en el poder del Espíritu Santo (aceite y vino). Nos lleva al lugar donde se espera que van haber otros heridos, enfermos y gente pasando dolor donde se nos cuida para que nos recuperemos y recaudemos fuerzas (la iglesia). Paga el precio de nuestra restauración, y promete regresar! El abogado que hizo la pregunta que trajo como respuesta, de parte de Jesus, esta parabola, sabia la respuesta en teoria. El samaritano lo puso en practica!

Jesús, ayúdame a ser mas como tu!

But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him, he had compassion. ³⁴He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him. ³⁵And the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper, saying, 'Take care of him, and whatever more you spend, I will repay you when I come back.'

John 10:33-35

I am astounded by the similarity between the Samaritan and Jesus. Like the Samaritan, Jesus was also despised and rejected. Jesus definitely showed compassion to many throughout his ministry and for all at the moment of the cross. He ministers and does signs and wonders in the annointing of the Holy Spirit (oil and wine). He emptied himself of his position, above us, in majesty and glory and elevated us to his position of sons and daughters of the same father (Philippians 2-"kenosis" and the Samaritan getting down from his beast and putting the hurt man on his beast). He brings us to a place where there are other hurt people, to be nurtured, to be resotred to health (church). He paid the price for us and promises to return! The lawyer that asked the question that Jesus responds to with this parable knew the answer in theory. The Samaritan lived it out in practice!

Jesus, help me to be more like you!

"'Estas cosas os he hablado para que en mi tengais paz. En el mundo tendreis aflicción; pero confiad, yo he vencido al mundo'"

Juan 16:33

Jesús dijo estas palabras. Me llama mucho la atención que la palabra nos dice "Para que en MI tengais paz." Lo mas sabio que yo podría hacer es auto-examinarme, y ser honesto y ver si en mi vida estoy confiando en cualquier otra cosa/ persona que no sea en el que dijo estas palabras. El otro pensamiento es que la palabra no nos indica a que confiemos en Jesús Y en "___ (cualquier otra cosa)." Es la misma cosa no confiar en Jesús y decir confiar en Jesús Y  con mis acciones y decisiones reflejar que también intento confiar en mi mismo, el dinero o en mis planes. O confió en El, o no confió en El. Este pasaje también nos asegura que tendremos aflicción, no es cuestión de que quizas, claramente dice que lo tendremos. Esto nos podría causar tristeza o ansiedad, pero gloria sea a Jesús que el pasaje concluye diciendo "Pero confiad, YO he vencido." Podemos tener gozo y certeza en cualquier aflicción porque aquel en quien hemos confiado VENCIÓ!  El enfoque de este pasaje es Jesús y la paz y confianza que El nos da, no la aflicción!

Señor revela con Tu Espíritu las maneras y situaciones en las cuales verdaderamente no confió en ti plena y únicamente.

"'I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."

John 16:33

Jesus said these words. It is interesting to me that the text reads, "That in ME you may have peace." The wisest thing I can do, in the face of this text, is to self-examine my life and honestly determine if I trust in anything or anyone other than He who said these words. The next thought I have is that the text never implies that I am to find that peace in Jesus AND in [blank (anyone/ anything else-money, education, myself, etc.)]. It is the same thing to not trust in Jesus as it is to say I trust in Jesus, but my life and choices reveal I want to trust in something else as well as Jesus equally. The only difference is self-deception. This text assures us that we will have tribulation, it is not a matter of if, but when. This may cause sadness or anxiety in some but praise be to Jesus that the text does not end there, it ends with "But take heart; I have overcome." We can have peace and faith in any tribulation because He who we have placed our trust in OVERCAME! The focus of this verse is Jesus and that peace He gives, not the tribulation!

Lord, reveal through your Spirit the ways in which I may not be truly finding my peace in you fully and only.

"Regocijaos en el Señor siempre. Otra vez digo: !Regocijaos!" "Por nada estéis afanosos"

Filipenses 4:4, 6a

Por naturaleza soy una persona que se preocupa por todo, aun mas de lo normal. Soy nervioso, ansioso y me preocupo demasiado. Al leer estos versículos, la palabra de Dios me confronta a excavar la raíz de la preocupación y ansiedad. Si soy honesto, es por falta de entendimiento de lo grande que es Dios. Al preocuparme, y perder la paz que Cristo vino a darme por mis circunstancias, estoy diciendo que mis circunstancias son mas importantes que el mandato de regocijarme. Esto es porque en el fondo estoy enfocado en mi (mi problema, mi circunstancia, mi necesidad, etc) y no en lo grande, poderoso y glorioso que es nuestro Dios. El debería de ser mi enfoque en todo momento y en toda circunstancia.

Padre, perdoname porque mi preocupación refleja que todavía me falta entender quien eres, y que en verdad si puedo confiar en ti plenamente. Ayudame a crecer en esta área de mi vida y que mi enfoque seas tu, no las circunstancias!.

"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice." "Do not be anxious about anything"

Philippians 4:4, 6a

By nature I am a worryer. I am a the type of person that worries about everything, more than what I consider to be normal. I am often nervous, anxious and too worried. As I read these verses, the word of God confronts me to excavate to the root of my worrying and anxiety. If I am honest, I believe it reflects in me a lack of truly understanding and resting in how great God is. By worrying and, therefore losing the peace that Christ came to give, I am saying with my actions that my cirumstances outweigh the mandate to rejoice. I think that this is due to my being so absorbed in me (my problems, my circumstance, my needs, etc) and not on how great, how powerful and how glorious our God is. He should be the center of my focus at every moment, in every circumstance.

Father, forgive me because my worry shows that I still need to truly know who you are and that I truly can completely place my trust in you. Help me to grow in this area of my life and that my focus would always be you and not my circumstances.

"Pero sin fe es imposible agradar a Dios; porque es necesario que el que se acerca a Dios crea que le hay, y que es galardonador de los que le buscan."

Hebreos 11:6

Es imposible confiar en Dios como El lo demanda (por completo) si en lo profundo de mi corazón se que solo confio en mi mismo. Si ese es el caso, entonces que hacemos con Hebreos 11:6 que dice "Sin fe es imposible agradar a Dios"? Y, si soy creyente, el agradar a Dios es mi único motivo de vivir...agradarle en mi vida, trabajo, hogar...eso es una vida de adoración. Confiemos en Dios como un acto de adoración.

Ayudame a confiar en ti como tu te lo mereces. Nunca has fallado, tu record es perfecto, tu fidelidad intachable. Por que he de temer el confiar en Ti?

"And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him."

Hebrews 11:6

It is impossible to trust/have faith in God the way He wants to be trusted if in the depths of my heart, I know that I only truly trust myself. If that is the case, then what do we do with Hebrews 11:6 that says, "Without faith it is impossible to please him [God]"? Furthermore, if I am a believer, I know that pleasing God is the only reason/ purpose for my life...please Him in my life, work, home...that is a life of worship. Lets trust God as an act of worship.

Help me to trust in you the way you ought to be trusted. You have never failed, you have a perfect record, your faithfulness is without blemish. Why, then, should I fear trusting in You?

"Con Cristo estoy juntamente crucificado, y ya no vivo yo, mas vive Cristo en mí; y lo que ahora vivo en la carne, lo vivo en la fe del Hijo de Dios, el cual me amó y se entregó a sí mismo por mí." 

Galatas 2:20

Desde la persepctiva de la eternidad, el "hombre viejo" ya no existe, ha sido juntamente crucificado con Cristo. La vida que ahora estoy viviendo en la carne ya no soy yo, debe de ser Jesus quien vive a traves y en mi. Es su poder, su autoridad, su santidad, sus deseos los cuales deben de dictaminar mi andar, pues ya mi vida no es mia, ha sido comprada.

Si Cristo me considero lo suficientemente valioso como para morir por mi, yo debo considerarlo lo suficientemente valioso como para vivir por El!!!

"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

Galatians 2:20

From the eternal perspective, the "old me" has been crucified with Christ. The life I now live in the flesh should be one in which Christ lives through me. It should be His power, authority, holiness and desires that should be directing my life since my life is no longer mine, for it has been bought.

If I was important enough to Him that He died for me, He should be important enough that I live for Him!!!
